The annual data-based analysis also ranked the company No. 1 among companies for people with disabilities.
DiversityInc magazine has ranked Wells Fargo No. 11 among the top 50 companies for diversity in 2020 — a list that Wells Fargo has appeared on every year since its inception in 2001. Wells Fargo ranked No. 13 on the 2019 list and No. 14 in 2018. The magazine also named Wells Fargo No. 1 among the top 16 companies for people with disabilities — a specialty list the company was not ranked on last year. Wells Fargo Supplier Diversity was also recognized by DiversityInc for the first time.
“We are once again proud to be ranked among these great companies that recognize and promote the benefits of diversity,” said David Galloreese, Wells Fargo’s head of Human Resources. “It’s an achievement made possible by a commitment to diversity and inclusion demonstrated at every level of our organization, and by our company’s dedication to developing a culture of belonging.”
“To be best positioned for success in this rapidly changing environment, companies must foster a culture that acknowledges and appreciates the diversity of its employees, customers, and other key stakeholders. This requires intentional and sustained focus from all levels in the company.” — Jimmie Paschall, head of Wells Fargo Diversity & Inclusion
Each year, DiversityInc surveys companies, comparing factors such as leadership accountability, talent development, philanthropy, and supplier diversity. About 1,000 companies participate in the rankings.
CEO and President Charlie Scharf has laid out his commitment to diversity and inclusion saying, “We are incredibly fortunate to be a part of a company that embraces D&I and everything it stands for. In today’s rapidly changing global marketplace, we must have a diversity of experiences and viewpoints informing our discussions and decisions.”
Wells Fargo was also ranked No. 8 among the Top 15 Companies for Supplier Diversity and named among the DiversityInc Top Companies for LGBT employees.
