We’re still a bank — a food bank
Thousands of Wells Fargo team members participated Sept. 20 in the company’s first Dedicated Day of Service, volunteering in their communities across the world.
When Blessings and Hope Food Pantry outgrew its space about two years ago, Wells Fargo stepped in and donated a vacant branch in Lakeland, Florida — helping the nonprofit quadruple its reach to more than 1,000 people a month. As part of Wells Fargo’s Dedicated Day of Service, team members volunteered at the former branch to serve their community.
“Donating one of our branches is not an everyday thing,” said Kate Wilson, Wells Fargo Florida Community Affairs Manager. “And being able to work with local leaders to make this exception and cater to the needs of our Lakeland community and Blessings and Hope Food Pantry is something we’re very excited about.”
