Empowering military and veteran communities

As the U.S. celebrates Veterans Day, Wells Fargo highlights how the company is easing veterans’ transition to civilian life and strengthening communities.

Named again by Military Times as one of the best companies for veterans, and the top military- and military-spouse-friendly employer by VIQTORY Media in 2020, Wells Fargo continues to help military members and veterans succeed financially as it has since its founding in 1852.

In 2012, Wells Fargo further enhanced its outreach to military service members, veterans, and families by creating the Veteran and Military Initiatives program and underscoring its commitment to military veterans.

Among the results to date:

  • More than 400 homes donated to veterans
  • Over $170 million contributed to 14,000 military- and veteran-related nonprofits
  • More than 5,000 veteran employees hired since 2018
  • More 1.5 million military service members and their families learned money management skills through Hands on Banking®

Sean Passmore, head of Veteran and Military Initiatives at Wells Fargo and a U.S. Army veteran of nearly 23 years, said a focus on career transition, housing, financial health, and small business support is driving the success.
